Studio 24E opened in 2001 and started as an idea to show a unique collection of bespoke pieces and art as well as custom framing in an environment that was both comfortable and approachable. Over the years this Maryland-based boutique incorporated the culture and style of the city, with its love of the relaxed atmosphere of small town living into the mix and attitude. Over the past decade the selection has evolved to become a well-edited assortment of vintage, antiques, as well as contemporary artist, designers and independent labels from the U.S. and abroad. Studio 24E is still adding to it's selection and keeping the mix as diverse as the locations they have served.

Our Story

Greg Elliott, and Nina Tate-Elliott began their journey in retail with both customer service and design being the main focus. Many years at Nordstrom, the epitome of customer service, from sales to management, helped guide not only their careers, but lead them to each other. While Annapolis was a great start for this journey, there was more to be seen, and more challenges ahead.

The first of what would become 3 moves, started in a white cape cod residential style building in Linthicum Maryland. There the foundation was forged for the base of custom framing, and the very loyal following that would continue on to today. Slowly new selections were added in the form of jewelry, and home departments. Eventually they outgrew this location and it was time to make a move, not knowing that move would take them 3 1/2 hours away. In 2005, the move was made to the mountains of Maryland, and West Virginia! While the store was located in the small town of Oakland, Maryland, home base was in the even smaller town of Terra Alta, West Virginia.  After the first location was set up in Downtown Oakland, a second was opened at the Wisp Resort at Deep Creek Lake. After about 7 years, it was time to move back east to Thurmont Maryland, and reopen in the current location.

 
 

Never ready to settle for "just good enough" the quest to seek out new and exciting merchandise is always at the forefront of their minds. You never know what you might find at Studio 24E, and to that end, the journey continues...
